Open Gate International Moldova hosted a training for the professional staff working in the General Department of Protection of the Rights of the Child on August 17 and 18.  Here is some of the wonderful feedback our team received:

  • The most exciting and useful were the principles presented. I liked the concrete examples, concrete practices, and the videos in Romanian.
  • The TBRI method is very good, the order of principles applied and the importance of responding immediately following a behavior (within 3 seconds). All activities and topics were interesting with a positive impact for us. Each teaching method has its role during the training and all are interesting and appropriate at a certain time, but discussions and exercises in small groups energize us and applying theoretical information in practice is strengthened. I believe that such training is welcomed for every person who wants to be a parent, especially an adoptive parent.
  • Everything was very useful and practical. I really believe we need more training like this to be organized so that we can have an exchange of best practices, and collaborate too.
  • The training was very structured and the subjects very useful.
  • I really loved the Sensory Processing subject but all the subjects were useful. I was especially happy to participate in this together.
  • Because of the understanding of Sensory Processing subjects I can be more prepared to work with our children. All the subjects were interesting and useful. I am more confident after our time.
  • I liked the attachment lesson, as well as the exchange of experience and good practices.
  • The information was very good, we interacted în groups, and had the opportunity to practice. I would like more informational support printed.
  • I have learned that it is very important to give voice to the child, to let him share his needs, opinion and necessities. Each subject was debated and analyzed in group settings so that each participant was able to participate. This training was gold, it opened new perspectives and visions for future resolutions.
  • I really hope this is only the beginning. I want to thank you for the opportunity to participate in this training. All was very well structured and convincing to help the children to become personalities.
  • Thank you very much for the information, conversations and care. I can’t wait to practice so that I can make sense of it as soon as possible. Our country and culture promotes structure but doesn’t emphasise as much the importance of nurture. I want to work on bringing balance in my work with children.
  • All the information was useful and important. Children need to be heard, cared for, and this can be offered only by us. It was an efficient training because we had an opportunity to process the information. This is beneficial for us as professionals and we are grateful for the opportunity to participate.
  • I appreciated the group practice of the principles. All the information is essential and very important to know for all that work with vulnerable children.
  • I liked learning how to use playful engagement to redirect conflictual behavior. This can be an answer to crisis situations.
  • I am very grateful for the information that I have learned. Especially for the rekindling of my hope that the behaviour can be changed despite the age. The chemistry of the brain can be changed because of healthy relationships. The method of teaching was very good and practical. It was structured and easy to memorize through examples and practice.
  • For me it was useful and captivating to discover the challenge of relationships, the importance of communication and trust. Many things can be resolved because of a right relationship that is correct and loving. I really liked hearing the testimonies of other people, it gave me courage that I can learn from the mistakes and successes. I liked the group activity time even though it was difficult to connect with new people. It is easier to open up in a more familiar context. I lived a long time with a sense of guilt because of my past and childhood.  I found some peace at this training that it is not my fault or my parents fault, we all carry something from the past that we need to resolve if we don’t want it to influence in a negative way our future. Thank you very much.
